Keeping Solar PV Panels Working At Peak Performance

Solar PV Panel Protective Coating

The Problem.

One of the key contributing factors in the drop of efficiency in solar PV panels is the accumulated dirt, dust and organic matter on the solar panel surface. In practice, dust must be removed from the surface of solar PV panels in order to ensure highest performance.

The Solar Energy Power Association notes that dirty solar panels can lose 20% of their energy output. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory puts that figure even higher, at 25%. Recent university research has shown that a dirty solar panel can lose 50% of its efficiency compared to a clean solar panel.

The Solution.

Liquid Glass Shield solar coating can be applied to all panel surfaces as it has been specifically designed for low angle surfaces that have minimum run-off. The coating is able to maintain a self-cleaning surface that resists dirt, dust, organic matter and pollen, which helps to retain optimum effectiveness of the panel.

Abrasion and scratch resistance is also significantly improved over untreated surfaces and poor cleaning and careless panel care will not damage the surface.

Once treated the coating produces a “self-cleaning” surface and dust and organic matter is simply washed away. In many cases cleaning schedules are reduced saving up to 85% on standard panel cleaning costs.

During colder months ice and snow cannot bond to the treated surface, which means that the surface does not need excessive scrapping or require the use of ice removal liquids.

The coating can be applied to any solar panel after professional cleaning. Once fully dry the panel surface should be coated with the liquid ensuring even coverage.

Suitable for all Solar PV panels including panels attached to buildings, camper vans and marine vessels.   The application is simple can can be applied with a roller or sponge, coverage for this product is 200m2 per litre.  A 120mm x 60mm panel will require 80ml -100ml of the coating.  You can order the LGS PV panel coating from this website https://liquidglassshield.com/product/liquid-glass-shield-solar-pv-panel-protective-coating/
