General Safety

Don’t apply Liquid Glass Shield products when near a source of ignition. This includes smoking.

Only use liquids, sachets and cloths supplied in the Liquid Glass Shield TM packs as other products may damage the surface.

External Glass

You’ve been provided with Sachet Packs to apply the Liquid Glass Shield to the external glass on your vehicle.

  1. Make sure that all glass to be treated have been thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and allowed to dry.
  2. Open sachet 1 (cleaning solution) and unfold the cleaning cloth. Gently wipe over the window being careful to remove any deposits especially grease and dirt. Allow the surface to dry before continuing the application process.
  3. Open sachet 2 (Liquid Glass Shield) and unfold the application cloth. Gently wipe over the surface making sure the whole area is covered, continue wiping over the surface until the cloth becomes completely dry.
  4. Wait a few minutes then buff over the surface with the application cloth until any streaks and residue are removed. It’s essential to remember that the treated surface will not become fully protected for between 6 and 12 hours while the activation of the Liquid Glass takes place.
  5. Carefully dispose of the used packaging and wipes. Only use sachets, atomiser spray and enclosed cloths within the Liquid Glass Shield packaging as other materials and cloths may damage, scratch and possibly remove factory applied coatings from the device.

Bodywork / Paintwork and Chrome:

Before application, make sure that your engine and ignition are switched off. Do not apply directly to any hot surfaces (engine/exhaust), live electrical contacts or sensitive apertures.  Do not apply in direct sunlight or when the surfaces of the vehicle are warm or hot.

  1. Make sure that the bodywork / paintwork to be treated has been thoroughly cleaned, using the cleaner concentrate supplied. You need to mix the cleaner with water at a rate of 1 part cleaner to 10 parts water. Make sure that the bodywork has been rinsed and allowed to dry.
  2. Apply the Liquid Glass Shield Polish to the microfibre cloth, wipe over the surface to be treated in a methodical way, applying more Liquid Glass Shield Polish, as required. Ensure even coverage across the area being treated.
  3. A residue will be visible on the bodywork. Use another microfibre cloth and buff the treated area to remove the residue and produce a beautiful shiny finish to the bodywork.
  4. It’s essential to remember that treated surfaces will not become fully protected for 6 to 12 hours whilst the Liquid Glass Shield TM coating becomes activated.

Surfaces can be handled, carefully, once air dried and buffed but we recommend treating surfaces and then leaving them for 6 to 12 hours, wherever possible (i.e. leave overnight). The vehicle can be used as normal once the surfaces have been air dried and buffed but it’s worth noting that if it rains on the vehicle within the first 1 to 3 hours the efficiency of the coating may be impaired to some degree, particularly, on the windscreen/windshield where the wipers have been used. Simply re-treat the windscreen to ensure that you get the full benefit.

Soft Surfaces:

Before applying Liquid Glass Shield TM to fabrics it is essential to make sure that the surface is clean and dry and has not been previously treated with a surface covering such as starch or detergent.  To test the surface simply drip clean water onto the surface and check that the water quickly soaks into the fabric, if it does you can apply the Liquid Glass Shield.

If the water does not soak into the fabric almost instantly then you must pre-clean the surface, rinse well to remove any detergent and dry completely.  Then repeat the water test to check that the water soaks into the fabric.  Once this is the case, you can then apply the Liquid Glass Shield.

To improve the performance of Liquid Glass Shield TM we suggest that a pH test is performed prior to application. If the pH level is high, clean the fabric with a neutral or low pH cleaner, then rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Liquid Glass Shiel soft surface protector is water based and completely natural but we do recommend doing a spot test on a non-visible section of the surface to be coated prior to a full application.

Once the surface is ready to apply the Liquid Glass Shield TM protective coating;

  1. Shake the Liquid Glass Shield  TM soft surface (Fabric) protector well (20-30 seconds) and then spray on the surface to be protected making sure that the coverage is even and the surface appears damp.
  2. Work in to the fibres of the surface, as required.
  3. Allow to dry, (can be force dried with fan/hairdryer) remembering that it takes up to 24 hours to become fully activated (even if force dried).
